Purpose of the Study
The purpose of this study is to better understand how student affairs middle managers experience supervision and how those experiences relate to their commitment to the student affairs profession. Specifically, this study examines the relationship between middle managers' perceptions of their supervisors' behaviors and their occupational commitment to the field of student affairs.

Eligibility to Participate - Middle Manager
To participate in this study, individuals must have at least five years of full-time professional experience, have at least one year of experience directly supervising at least one full-time professional staff member, and currently serve in a student affairs middle management role that does not report directly to the chief student affairs officer.

What Will I Be Asked to Do?
If you are eligible and choose to participate, you will be asked to complete an anonymous online survey. The survey includes questions about your supervision experiences, your perceptions of supervisory behaviors, your commitment to the student affairs profession, and basic demographic information. The survey is expected to take approximately 10 minutes to complete. Participation is voluntary, and you may skip any question that you do not wish to answer.

Risks and Benefits
Participation involves minimal risk. Some questions may prompt you to reflect on supervision experiences that could cause minor discomfort. You may skip questions or discontinue participation at any time. There are no direct benefits to participating. However, your responses may contribute to a greater understanding of supervisory practices and professional commitment within student affairs and may help inform future leadership development and supervision practices within the field.

Confidentiality
Your participation is confidential and anonymous. You will not be asked to provide your name or other identifying information. Responses will be collected anonymously through QuestionPro, and IP addresses will not be collected. Results will be reported only in aggregate form and no individual participant will be identifiable in any report, presentation, or publication.

Voluntary Participation
Participation in this study is completely voluntary. You may choose not to participate, skip questions, or discontinue participation at any time without penalty. Your decision will not affect your employment, professional standing, or participation in any programs.
