2026 Coweta County Master Gardener Extension Volunteer (MGEV)


Scholarship Application


 


Thank you for your interest in the Coweta County MGEV Scholarship. This year, scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $2,000. Please submit completed applications by Friday, March 27, 2026.


 


In order to qualify for a scholarship, applicants must:


  • Reside in Coweta County. (Residency in Coweta but may attend school outside the county...College students may apply.)
  • Have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  • Pursue a career in horticulture, agriculture, environmental science or a related field.
  • Be accepted by a college or technical school that offers courses in horticulture, agriculture, environmental science or related field.
  • Submit a professional recommendation letter from a teacher or counselor, advisor or employer who can evaluate you as a student and/or employee.
  • Submit a personal recommendation letter from an individual, not related, who can attest to your overall character and initiative.  
  • Recommendations must be mailed to Coweta County Extension, 255 Pine Road, Newnan, GA 30263 or emailed to coweta.extension@uga.edu, by the deadline of Friday, March 27, 2026.
  • Submit a transcript from your high school.


 


Please complete the attached application with no omissions, incomplete applications will not be considered. In addition to the application, you must have two letters of recommendation mailed or emailed to Coweta County Extension and attach a copy of your school transcript.


Notification of awards will be via letter from the Coweta County MGEV Scholarship Committee. Additionally, presentations of awards are generally made during the school's awards ceremony.
